    SPEECH

    Friends, Colleagues, Advocates.

I am delighted to notify you that today, 9th December 2025, I have presented my Nomination Papers for LSK President, 2026-28, dated 8th December 2025. I wish to thank in a special way my two nominators, Dr Mercy Deche of Mombasa and Mr Edwin Mukele of Nairobi. I also thank all those many other advocates who have expressed interest and have supported my LSK Presidential campaign agenda in various ways, including my colleagues in the Nairobi and Kisumu branch offices of Muma and Kanjama Advocates.
After receiving numerous requests from various members of the young Bar, mid Bar and senior Bar, both external and inhouse practitioners, I made a formal declaration of interest to run for LSK President last month on 13th November 2025. Since then I have actively engaged thousands of LSK Members in the various branches of the Society.

I have listened and learnt from you about your concerns.
✅ You've reminded me that LSK runs on members funds and should have its principal focus on practice & welfare issues affecting members.
✅ You've affirmed that the coming elections is an opportunity for fresh ideas and faces to join LSK Council to carry our LSK agenda forward.
✅ You've also insisted that we need an LSK President who has a track-record of service & leadership in the Society.
✅ You've made it clear that for LSK to effectively discharge its mandate in championing rule of law, as well as accountability of the Judiciary, of court & commercial registries and of the Profession and LSK structures, we need a candidate with clear independence from Government and personal & professional integrity.
✅ You desire a strong candidate to help build a strong LSK for all members, that can help unite the young, mid and senior Bar, both in-house and external practitioners, both men and women lawyers, from all the LSK branches & chapters.

I am happy to hear your concerns. I am confident that I'm the candidate who best fits the profile of the leader you the members desire, and with a commitment to the agenda members are asking that we focus on. In summary, I will engage based on a simple four-point agenda:
    #1. R = Rule of Law.
    #2. I = Integrity.
    #3. P = Practice & Welfare.
    #4. E = Engagement.
I commit to continue to engage you all, using various platforms, until the elections intended for February 2026. I humbly request for your vote and support, as well as of the colleagues in your circle of influence.

As we approach the Christmas Holidays, I warmly extend wishes for a happy, blessed & fruitful Christmas Season. May we all spend time with our families, relatives & friends, remembering to be sowers of peace and joy to those around us.

As I close, I invite you to join and visit our campaign platforms, including our website and campaign WhatsApp groups.

    With best wishes.

    Charles Kanjama SC.
    Candidate for LSK President, 2026-28.
